ROMERS

A romer is a device with a crosshair for use in determining the proportional position of a map feature in a grid square. With this information the user can calculate the grid reference position for the map feature under scrutiny. Modern clear plastic romers usually incorporate a protractor for measuring angles and scales bars for use on different scaled maps.
